It’s been a crazy week! Tuesday, I was told that Rich could be coming home by the weekend. All determined by insurance. The kids all came over and we dismantled the dining room, moved it to my mom’s house (she lives next door) and got things organized-just in case. By Friday, without word from insurance, we knew Rich would continue rehab for maybe another week. On my way to see him Friday afternoon, I got a call that they found him on the floor in his room. Long story short, they sent him to the ER about 9pm that night. All scans showed he was ok. Back to rehab he went. Yesterday morning, I got another call that he was vomiting & his oxygen level was low. Back to the ER he went. Chest xray and another CT scan plus lots of blood work. By about 6pm, he was moved to a room where he staying for observation. So far, it has been determined he has sinusitis and his platelets are low (they continue to be low so no surprise there) I am meeting with his doctors today from Northwestern via phone when they do their rounds. It’s up in the air now as to when he may come home, but all us Larens hope it’s later than sooner because he is in no shape to be home-part of the reason he fell Friday night. He has no recollection of that, but I assume he tried getting into bed from his wheelchair on his own. He has no strength at all to even stand.
I will update when I know more.
