Renee’s Story

Site created on October 7, 2021

September 2 Renee started getting a cough. A couple days later she went to urgent care and they told her it was allergies and an ear infection but Renee insisted they do a Covid test also. It was positive. Tuesday after Labor Day she was prescribed an infusion, that given early helps. Her temperature was 102. She could not receive this infusion until Friday as there were no home care nurses available until then. Thursday the 9th, her pulse ox dropped and I brought her to Mercy One in WDM. They admitted her. On September 25th, she was moved to Iowa Methodist downtown and put on an ECMO (heart and lung bypass). She continues to have good and bad days. Trent has been updating on his Facebook page as well. We though this would be one place everyone could come for updates.
Renee is a light in the world and tough as nails or .....scrappy as we love to say. With your prayers and support we can give her back the light she gives to all of us.

Journal entry by Teri Goins

Yesterday 10-21-21 Renee' Borger Murphy gave me so many wonderful memories. Please no condolences just a “positive” memory.

Visitation Monday Oct 25 from 5-7 is at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart in Ankeny. Open funeral service 10:30 AM same place OLIH- Tuesday the 26th.

Just one of my “positive” memories is hearing her laugh and giggle from around the corner as she was playing with the cats. It was always a fun end to the day.
