The biopsy and evaluations in Houston went well to get some cancer cells, yet now they are evaluating all things such as white platelet count, my health, etc…to see if I’m a good candidate.
The exciting thing is I have options to make for the clinical trials if approved. Originally with our Oncologist here we were looking at Cellular-therapy trials, but now they’ve given an option for a KRAS12 clinical trial which is a mutant gene dealing with protein issues sort of that I have. We found this in genetic testing. I don’t fully understand all this medical stuff so luckily I have Cathy my biomedical engineer to help with the decision making. The Houston Oncologist Dr Smaglo (pictured above) mentioned going back there in three to four weeks.
Lastly, in Houston they found I have fluid around my heart. So I have to keep an eye on this through symptoms such as shortness of breath. The fluid is moderate, a side effect from chemo they believe, but my heart is strong and they said it might go away by itself. I have to drink more fluids. I have an appointment here with a cardio Dr
My shout out is to Kole for keeping an eye on Carly for us and helping around the house. I so thank you everyone for all the prayers, support, and thinking about me. Make sure to take care of your Moms coming up this Sunday.
Kevin
