I know it’s been a while since an update has been posted, but things have been a little hectic!  So, in rehab my moms blood pressure has been dropping dramatically and she’s been have high fevers.  Her doctors ran every test imaginable on her and everything came back pretty much normal.  They deemed the low blood pressures and fevers were a result of her brain getting used to its new normal state.  Because of this, she hasn’t been able to participate in PT because she literally has  been passing out just when they try to stand her due to the drop in blood pressure.  She was also unfortunately transported back to Manhasset hospital last week because she has excess water on her brain.  She is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday where they will be placing a shunt in her head to drain the excess water to her abdomen.  Her team of doctors told us that she shouldn’t have visitors at this time.  I’ll update everyone on this site when that changes.  She’s slowly starting to recognize what she’s going through and is expressing her emotions more.  Her speech still isn’t there yet though and she’s extremely frustrated because she can’t verbalize what she’s thinking. Hopefully when she’s back in rehab after this surgery, things will start improving!  Keep the prayers going!
