Journal entry by Pat Spillane —
What's up with Pat? Remember the new brain tumor and bone site activity (Jan 17th, last post)? Well, add in abdominal omental cake (activity in the abdomen cavity) and that is where we start for this update, oh, and the new treatment protocol to see if we can re-stablize the ongoing cancer activity.
The abdominal omental activity is a new cancer metastases and it causes fluid retention in the abdomen cavity. This sent me to the ER the first time and to 2 subsequent drainings after that. They sick a big "drain" needle into your abdomen and let it run. I drained 3 litres the first time and 2 liters each for the next two.
My latest CT Scans were run on March 22nd and I had my doctors appointment to review the CT Scans and evaluate the new treatment effectiveness was monday, March 25th.
First, my doctor sent a message early that morning before my appointment noting the CT Scan looked good, that's truly a FIRST! Second, he’s very happy with the way things look and have progressed. The “stuff” in my abdomen, omental cake, shows good progress and has "resolved". The new treatment did its job and fixed the omental cake, it has stopped any new bone (and other) metastasis and has kept everything else either shrinking or stable.
I gotta say, this "made me happy" 😀. So, we go this direction for the foreseeable future!
Coming at you with "...a whole lotta love...", thx as always for keeping it flowing back.
Over and Out for now. Pat & Tracy
