Pastor Kenneth and Anne’s Story

Site created on October 6, 2021

Greetings from Mitchell FRC,
We are humbled and Blessed with all of the prayers and concern for our church family and Pastor Hutton and Anne.  This page is to help keep you updated and allow you to communicate with them.  The opening paragraph is sharing information we have.  We will post updates from them as often as we receive them.  Thank you again for your prayers.

This journey began the end of September with members of our congregation falling ill and testing positive for COVID-19.  Pastor Hutton shared with us on October 1st that he and Anne were quite ill and he tested positive for COVID-19 but thankfully Daniel continues to be healthy. On Tuesday, October 5 Pastor Hutton was brought to the hospital.  Pastor Hutton remains in hospital in serious condition receiving treatment for covid related pneumonia.  Tuesday nigh his oxygen requirements increased and there was concern he needed to be intubated so he has been moved in the ICU.  Since then, his Oxygen requirement, although still high are improved.  For those who understand numbers, on Wednesday, he was on 5L of high flow 50% oxygen and getting O2 Sats of 97%.  According to the nurse he still may need intubation. (It partially depends on how tiring breathing gets.) He has been able to talk on the phone to Anne.  Anne was taken to emergency later in the day, she was treated for pneumonia and released with medication and also tested positive for COVID-19.  We cannot stress enough how sick they are and the need for prayer.  Anne is receiving meals and has a member from the congregation living with her and Daniel to care for them.  Anne feels Blessed with the caring hands and loving heart from this member.  Please note this member is fully vaccinated and has the proper training and experience to support Anne.  We are all confident Anne is getting the best care from her.

Psalm 121:
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

A note from Pastor Hutton and Anne:

Dear family and friends this is an update about our family's and current situation. It is now just over two weeks since I returned home from the hospital. I am very thankful to the Lord for preserving my life during my time there and for reuniting me once again with my family. While this is certainly not an experience I would wish to have to repeat, I can nevertheless testify to the Lord’s steadfast love and goodness throughout this period. I was very conscious of the Lord’s presence during my time in the hospital, and although I was told early on that it may be necessary to put me on a ventilator, the Lord gave me a strong assurance that it would not come to that. He also put into my mind the opening words of verse 17 of Psalm 118: “I shall not die, but live.” I knew very early on then that it was only a matter of time before I would be able to return home from the hospital.

Anne is also slowly getting better. Her cough is much improved but she still finds herself getting tired very easily. Our baby seems to be doing well at the moment but the doctor wants to monitor the baby closely in the coming months in light of Anne's sickness. Daniel is also doing well and seems happy to have his daddy home again. 😊

We would also like to thank everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement during this past month. It has been a great blessing to us. We are truly thankful to the Lord for the love and care you have expressed for us.

Wishing you all God's richest blessings in your own lives and families.
