Parker did amazing as usual, everything was on time, and we had a short visit with Dr Mihalcik after the session that went well. Parker is an old pro at this whole process so he had me stay in the waiting room while he went back alone. It stung a little but also reminded me how strong and courageous he continues to be. He is growing into such an incredible young man. Afterwards we grabbed some iced coffees and moseyed over to Whole Foods for his new fave lunch, tilapia! Ever since we found out the the boys can eat seafood, they can’t get enough. Such a blessing to laugh with each other and try new things.

It’s getting close to the 4 year mark for the discovery of the first BT and I can feel it in my bones… in my breathing… all those feelings lurking in the back of my mind. It’s hard to stay present and not give those feelings control. We talked today about hopes and dreams for the future. We reassured Parker that we are always continuing to look for treatment options and new ideas, and in the meantime we will plan some adventures. Joe and I, with the help of all of you, will do our best to make many of the things we talked about happen for both Parker and Maxwell. There is of course sadness, fear, uncertainty in these conversations, but it gives us hope to look forward and make plans to live the best life we can. 

Parker was 11 years old when this all started. Unreal. Now he is officially a sophomore in high school!! We don’t know what the future holds, we didn’t know 4 years ago either…but we do know that we can love and appreciate the life we have together right now.
