A positive update for today’s chemo!
Parker’s team switched up the IV Emend that he had the allergic reaction to. Today we tried the same drug in pill form and it worked perfectly! The allergy is actually to one of the IV ingredients called polysorbate. A silver lining to this reaction is that he no longer will need the 40 minute IV infusion for emend so that cuts down the time he has to sit in the hospital getting meds.
I’d cautiously call this a win!
His pre-chemo lab results also came back looking great so he was able to get the full chemo for this week and it feels like things are back on track 🩶
