Orson’s Story

Site created on February 1, 2024

Our boy🤍Orson Raife was born 1/31/24 weighing 5 lbs 2 ounces. God heard our prayers and your prayers and we delivered a healthy little boy. During pregnancy he never got above the 4th percentile until the very last month when he got to 8.5 percentile. We had lots and lots of ultrasounds and the doctors felt that it was best not to let us go past 38 weeks because of too much amniotic fluid. The doctors had told us he would probably spend at least some time in NICU. When he was born all went well other than that they had to do quite a bit of suctioning to get the fluid he had swallowed out. He had also had a bowel movement inside my belly already. They let him stay with us and all seemed well. In the evening when they kept having to suction, they decided to take him to NICU to suction him out better and watch him overnight. He did ok during the night, but then he had an episode in the morning. They thought it was a siezure. He was holding his breath which resulted in these episodes. He had another episode this afternoon. They did lots of tests today and ruled out a bunch of things. They think they may have found the issue, but we are waiting on some results to finish coming back. We will post something when we know more. He will need to stay here until he hasn't had an episode for a week. His name, Orson, is a male name meaning bear cub. Stirring up cuddly, teddy bear imagery🙂 Raife, his middle name, from the Hebrew name Rafeal meaning, God has healed. And we believe that God will!🤍🙏🏼
