Journal entry by Christopher Bell —
On March 9, 2020, Nicole Thérèse Bell James passed away, following a long and courageous battle with colorectal and liver cancer. Nicole was born on January 8, 1970, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and worked for most of her adult life as an Information Technology project manager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sean James, and her father, Russell Bell, Jr. She was the most loving and devoted mother of Brandon Thomas James, daughter of Cynthia Augustin Bell, big sister to her brothers Eric and Christopher Bell and their wives, Sari and Megan (respectively), and treasured auntie to Justin, Eliott, Olivia, Trae, and Aaliyah. She will be remembered for her fierce independence, her sharp wit, and her fashion sense. Nicole loved to travel – especially to the beaches of Hawaii and with Brandon to Orlando’s theme parks (particularly the Jurassic Park ride). In her short time here on Earth, Nicole lived like a stone thrown into a lake – her impact rippling across the lives of every person she ever met. Nikki will be cremated in a private family ceremony, with a memorial service planned for later in 2020 due to global circumstances.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a fund we have set up to help Brandon transition to his new life.
Donations are being accepted here.
