Journal entry by Nick Kulpa

Good Weekend to Everyone--
Nick passed away this past Tuesday in the wee hours of the morn.
Those who loved him were with him from the start of this disease, and were at his side until the end.

At no time did he lose his faith, or positive spirit.  Yes his spirit was strong, but his body was weak.

I know you are all wondering what good can come out of this.  The good was that a smart, kind, spiritual, and gifted young man was with us for 39 years, and that we had the good fortune to love him and have him in our lives.

His optimism and faith was an inspiration for all of us.

Nick himself would tell you that, like George Bailey, he had a wonderful life.

He loved, fishing, hunting, hiking, reading, knowledge, movies, music, God, country,  travel,  friends, and family.

He would want all of you to reach for your dreams and get rid of the negative items, ideas, and people cluttering up your life.

If you have dreams pursue them.  Reach for the stars.  You have one life here--live it.  Live it with love, faith, kindness, and passion.  To his aunts, Carmel and Mary, and his cousin Rachel, thank you for coming to say good-bye.  To Uncle Steve and Aunt Jan, thank you for all your prayers, cards, medals, and phone calls.  To Kyle, Adam, and Jason--his three best friends--you truly were the God squad and Nick's love will never leave you.  To Lilly and Lyric, know that Nick loved you, so please honor him by remembering  what he believed you could both be.  To Commerce--you were wonderful.  The food, dog walks, and visits were great; your many prayers were welcomed and appreciated.

So dear readers thank you all for cheering Nick on.  Pray that Jack and I will make it through this devastating loss.  We were a close family with so much love for one another.  This love will always remain with us.  As Catholics we are a resurrection people, but I had hoped that Nick would outlive us.  God had a different plan.  So we both have to accept God's will and journey on.  Pray that this journey leads us on a path that is positive, enlightening, and pleasing to God.  I love you all.  --  Peggy (Nick's Mom)
