I met Nick in the Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) several years ago. He was one of those guys who stood out and always made us laugh. I enjoyed getting to know him. I was just thinking of him and thought I'd post a note. He may be gone, but he is certainly not forgotten.

Jack & Peggy,

I am so sorry to hear about Nick’s passing. The last time I saw him was during deer season in Brule years ago when we just happened to be hunting in the same area. I was there hunting a few days ago and couldn’t help but think about him and your family.

I will always remember all the laughs and adventures during our jr high years. I wish I could have attended the service, but I was traveling at the time.

My heart hurts for you.

I am heart broken for all of you! I was one of the people that he touched so greatly. I’m truly blessed to have known him. I wish I could be there Tuesday to celebrate Nick with his family and friends but I’m traveling for work. Please know you all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!

In chorus, we sing a song called "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" from the movie Sleepless in Seattle. Carly Simon (as well as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, etc) has an excellent rendition of this song on You Tube. I will think of Nick every time we sing this song due to your opening statement about when Nick lost his battle with cancer.

A very sad ending to a wonderful, too short, life.

Love,
Diane

Jack & Peggy, not a day goes by that I'm thinking of you guys. Sometimes a person does not no what to say. After Dad's death I still feel the loss and it's been 2 Years. Carmel thinks I'm cold hearted just because I didn't reach out. If you guys think the same about me I'm sorry. I prayer that God gives you strength during this time.

Love you guys
