Went back to the Mayo this past week for chemo round 16. It went okay. As usual he has a few productive days when we return home from chemo and then as the steroids wears off, he starts to slow down and experience the unpleasant side effects of the chemo. The warmer weather does make it easier on him and makes it so he can be outside more. He does enjoy being outside more and doing what he can. He really likes to mow the grass! He has been enjoying doing some home projects when he feels well enough and is hoping to get a garden in soon.
We will be going back to the Mayo next week for chemo and doctor visits and then back home. Douglas will be graduating from high school the day we come back! We should be able to attend his graduation ceremony, as long as there are no delays on the way home. His chemo is early that morning, and it only takes three hours now, so in theory we should be back a few hours before his graduation, but I still worry a bit. I do not want to miss that!
Thank you to everyone. The meals, cards, encouragement, gifts, and prayers are all felt and appreciated!
