Yesterday Michael and I went to a pinwheel planting ceremony at OSU Hospital to honor transplant patients. Over 11,500 pinwheels were planted, each signifying a successful transplant surgery at OSU. The pinwheels were also symbolic. Each pinwheel had one stem and eight spokes. The stem represents the hero donor, and the spokes represent each of the eight major organs a donor may give and thus the potential number of lives one donor can save.

Michael is doing well. He had a short spell of rejection (Level 2) but was treated for it and no longer has any signs or symptoms of it. He’s busy living his best life, including preparing to open a booth in an antique mall here in town. You should see all the antique treasures he’s been squirreling away. I’m sure he’ll let people know where to find it on Facebook or Instagram or something. Hopefully I haven’t let the cat out of the bag on that one! 🐱

Oh, and some big news: he’s allowed to have houseplants again as long as he “won’t go too crazy.” If you know Michael, you know that’s going to be a challenge for him 🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴

Some pictures from yesterday’s ceremony are attached. It was the first large event we’ve attended since the pandemic began. Thankfully almost everyone there was properly wearing a mask. 😷

♥️♥️♥️
