A writer friend of mine, Amanda Gorster Schaefer, shared this past week,

When a storm comes it sends the roots of trees down deeper and this is what allows them to stay standing but last night I was listening to a sermon and they were talking about redwood trees - They grow up to 300 feet high, the tallest of trees, but unlike all other trees their roots only go down 3 feet deep - So how do they stay standing?! Well it's because of how their root system works - redwood tree roots grow down about 3 ft. And then they spread out and intertwine with the other trees around them so they all stand together - when the storm comes, the entire forest stands through it holding on to each other!!! This is what Biblical community is like, we hold each other up in the storms - one more amazing thing: when a redwood tree begins to die, because of this root system, it doesn't fall over, it still stands because the others won't let it go!!! If there is any chance that there is life left in the tree, it remains held up by those who are fully alive 🙌🏻 So stay connected!! Biblical Community is a gift from God - thankful for those who have held me up in the storms💛

You are our community, our root system that holds us up when the storms come. We are so thankful for each of you. 

It's seems that Michael is remaining puny for most of the time between treatments. He is barely feeling normal before it's time for another treatment. This weekend he's been fighting another low grade temperature with chills.

This week is chemo week (Tuesday). Please continue to pray for mild side effects.
