He had an appointment at the prosthetic company today.  New clinician who also has a prosthetic.  He suggested a new leg for Melvin that would have a suction socket with additional elevated vacuum that would not rub or cause Melvin's skin to break down.  He said it was not new so makes us wonder why no one else made that recommendation.  Melvin to get an emergency appointment with orthopedics for an evaluation, which by God, we got for next Thursday.  Orthopedics will need to write a new prescription for the prosthetic.  The new clinician said he has seen worse burn victims than Melvin.  All encouraging and a big hug for the new clinician from me!  So, we need you to say a prayer that the insurance will cover the cost of the new prosthetic - estimated to be around $15,000.  But his first one cost $26000. Finally, maybe a better outcome.
