Meghanne’s Story

Site created on August 7, 2018

PROGRESS IS STANDING UP EVERYDAY TO FIGHT a diagonisis of Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme (July 2018), WHILE STANDING UP!

After surviving childhood cancer (rhabdomyosarcoma) and receiving over 20 years of blessings, it was a rude awakening for our family when Meghanne's  6 months of fatigue and odd neurological symptoms were confirmed to be seizure activity, as well as the result of another brain tumor. After concluding the initial treatments at UIHC, we strive to live each day the best we can.

We are grateful to have completed 5 rounds of EDO-S101 phase 1 clinical trial treatments thank all of our family, friends and community for the unwavering support and encouragement.

Journal entry by Meghanne Zimmerman

Earlier this week I was accepted into a phase 0 clinical trial at Ivy Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix AZ. After a month of uncertainty (getting kicked off the the the trial in Houston for Progression, emergency radiation for tumors at my brain stem, speculation that I was misdiagnosed, speculation that I also have leptomeningeal disease...) I am elated to now have a plan of attack. Without my husband and his parents I would not have this opportunity I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family and support system.
