Hi all,

I wanted to share an update on Mom. While the plan had originally been to start 5 weeks of radiation, we’ve had to call an audible. 

While reviewing the mapping scans for the radiation, the oncologists found some additional lymph nodes that are simply too close to organs to safely perform radiation. 

With the radiation treatment plan off the table, Mom will instead begin an immunotherapy combo (infused and oral) next week. She’ll receive the infused immunotherapy (Keytruda) once every 3 weeks and the oral chemo daily. 

This particular combo has been shown to be pretty well tolerated, and the hope is that she won’t face any major side effects (though she’ll certainly be tired). The good news is - she won’t lose her hair with this regimen! 

We’ll keep everyone updated as she gets going, and thanks for all the continued love, thoughts, and prayers.
