Dear Friend of Maria:

I wish I had time to email each of you personally, but things have been moving very quickly.

Maria is in hospice at home and her energies are fading fast.

If you had some words you wanted to share with her, now would be the time to do it.  It doesn't have to be perfect, but it does have to be soon.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL MARIA DIRECTLY -- she is moving past the place where she can read and respond to email. 

REPLY to this email (or send a separate email to me at danholzner@att.net) and I will print out what you wrote to her and put it next to her bed so we can read it to her when she is able to hear it.

Perhaps you have a fond memory of Maria, or of something you did together, or to describe how you saw her and thought of her as a person, that could be something you could put into words that we can share with her.

One of Maria's big regrets is leaving so much work unfinished on what she heartbreakingly calls "this sweet Earth".  So many trips she will never take, so many things she wanted to do but now will never have the chance.

So if there is a way for her to know that in her time here she was seen for what she is, that she was known for who she is, that she helped in so many positive ways in her work fighting for environmental causes, to hear words of assurance from you that you saw her, you knew her, that you will remember her even if she is gone from our sight, and that she helped make this world a better place ... then it may allow her to let go of all the unfinished things in her life, as she is forced to take her leave from this sweet Earth.
