Marcia’s Story

Site created on March 19, 2023

Welcome to Marcia Kawecki's Caring Bridge site. Its unfortunate that we have a caring bridge site today, but it is a blessing that we can share updates on her recent battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was diagnosed in Mid February, and her battle starts now. We will do posts throughout the weeks and months ahead and we fight along side her and get her to that finish line! If anyone who has ever met Marcia knows she is a one in a billion soul and this is definitely a "not fair" moment. But she's tough, she has more faith than anyone I know, and she is ready to take this on and beat it!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Steven Kawecki

Good evening everybody! Hope everyone is doing well. Spring seems to be coming in to Minneapolis and I'm sure everywhere else because if it's warm here its pretty much warm everywhere. So that is definitely helping with grief to just have a sunshine day with a warm breeze. It's been doing wonders.

We do apologize for the delay on the funeral arrangements for mom. I know she would be growing impatient and I can almost sense her being impatient now. She would want to "get the show on the road" and if anyone knows her she used that line often. So we have dates! (Sorry mom for the delay)

The visitation will be on Thursday March 21st from 4-7pm at the Washburn McCreavy Seman Chapel in Coon Rapids. The address there is

1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433

We will be doing an open mic from 6-7 that night in their chapel for people to share funny stories or any kind stories about my mom. I know there are a lot of you out there with some and we would love to hear them all. It will be uplifting. We will be playing a lot of my moms favorite songs so if anyone has any requests my mom liked please let us know that as well. We want to keep it light because she loved to laugh and she wouldn't want us to be sad too much longer. So keep that date in mind.

The funeral will be the next day at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka at 10am for a visitation and an 11am service. We picked out a couple of good solos that will be sung and some uplifting hymns as well. Pastor Connie has been awesome and we finished 90% of the plan this afternoon. She's going to do an awesome job for mom. Afterwards we will be doing a luncheon at the church for all who want to join us to eat. We would love everyone to attend and visit and enjoy eachothers company. The address for Zion is

 1601 S 4th Ave, Anoka, MN 55303

Flowers are welcome if anyone wants to send those, Brittas dad works for a floral shop in blaine and has offered to do free delivery for those through The Flower Shoppe Greenfingers. He will do free delivery to the chapel and or church. So that is an option for anyone interested.

Again, I just want to give a heartfelt thank you for the past year. Our whole family has felt your prayers, love and constant concern about our mom and her care and her road that came to an unfortunate end. She heard all your prayers and heard all your words of encouragement and I believe that was her fuel to fight for as long as she did. She loved all of you. With that being said, if anyone has questions feel free to contact me. I will be checking in on this often and I hope to see you all in a couple weeks for my mom's send off. We appreciate and love you all!!
