Another Monday morning at City of Hope. Picked mom up at 7:00 am for the 7:30 lab work. There was nothing noteworthy in that moment except for the fact we were matchy matchy with our blue and red ensembles. Twinning?!? 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
The findings from the blood work — All good!!!! The only mystery is: Her body isn’t absorbing vitamin B 12 in the way it needs. The next step is doing a monthly shot (for the next 3 months) to see if that helps. They need an authorization so unfortunately it couldn’t happen while we were there. The other mystery is why her last IVIG was denied by insurance. The doctor is gonna take that up with the provider since that should NOT be the case.
Thankfully the experience was pretty uneventful. We were out of there in 2 hours flat. The big shake up was the doctor’s office moved from the main level to the lower level. For all the visual learners City of Hope does a great job of color coding signs and hallways so it’s nearly impossible to get lost (even for me).
