Friday’s round 6 landed on May 3rd which is the day Kyle passed away. It was tough and surreal being there to say the least as usually we are unable to do anything or go anywhere, It’s like we’re paralyzed. Last year we pushed ourselves and went to our friend’s daughter’s HS graduation party on May 3rd , but we were not able to shake the sorrow to say the least and left early. We tried!
I’m now 2 months into chemotherapy and the thing is that the more you do the sicker you feel and I’m just over it. I’m over it for Summer mostly! I hate that she has to see me going through this and that she’s missing time with me. I pushed myself to go to her AAA hockey tryouts on Saturday morning after chemo and Im so glad I was able to do it. I didn’t last long but I was there! And yes she made a frontline spot on the team this year!!!! She is so strong and focused, so positive it’s hard to believe. It’s like she’s carrying me! Jim has been a m a z i n g through all of this too and not sure where the hell I’d be without him. He’s at every single chemo and doctor’s appointments and just always there for me in every capacity. He’s working full time, just completed our book, doing pod casts, mentoring college students here at Butler University and finishing his masters at Penn State. He has always put his family first no matter what and I’d like to think that this is one of the secret ingredients to holding a marriage together. This is our second time around with the cancer journey and once again, we just realized, that it has drawn us closer!
Our book drops tomorrow everywhere worldwide 🌍
