Sign In to Show Your SupportThe past two weeks have been tough. I again was taken to the ER at United Hospital on Monday. I was coughing up some blood and tissue. I spent a full day and the night in the hospital. I saw a team of doctors from so many different areas I lost count. They were working their way through on what it could be. My last doctor to visit was an ENT and they didn't know for sure if my carotid artery was leaking. It wasn't. God had other plans for me. I made it through the night.
The next morning I was discharged. I was able to get an appointment with an ENT with our radiology group at the Mayo Clinic on Wednesday. That meeting went so much better. She explained that what I was coughing up was tissue and mucus from my throat and it's all part of the healing process after radiation. But it seems I am never out of the woods. Healing continues, slowly, but it is happening and it is going to take awhile. Pain management continues to be an issue. Finding my way through all of this each day has been challenging. As always I look to my Savior for help and comfort. His timing is usually not the same as mine. It's the waiting part that is so hard.
I know I have a long road ahead of me for recovery but I still know that God is not done with me yet. I will do my very best to face these challenges with the help and support of my family and friends.
So we move forward with humility and grace waiting on the Lord to lead the way to full healing.
