Today I went in for my chemo appointment and to see Dr. Singh for my PET scan results. The PET scan confirmed that the tumors have grown and my current chemo, FOLFIRINOX, is no longer working. My platelets were at 80 four weeks ago and should have increased without chemo, but instead were at 60 today, which means I will not be considered for the clinical trial. 

 No chemo today, next Monday (need to get insurance approval) I will start on a new chemo regimen, Gemzar/Abraxane. I've heard it's easier than my current chemo and I've heard it's the same. I've heard I won't lose my hair completely, maybe just some thinning, and I've heard that I could just lose it all. I guess everyone has a different journey and we will see where it takes me.  Good news is it's an effective treatment, and we are hoping to have another long run with this one.

 I'm disappointed, a little sad, but I'm ok. It's good to know the facts, and have a plan moving forward. The tumors are still small, so maybe this new chemo will zap them down.  Hope is very much alive, there is still so much to look forward to!!!
