Hello everyone! Have I got a story for you! I went to the Mayo clinic to have one final PET/MRI before surgery. Everything went really good! But we'll get back to that in a bit. I then had an appointment with the surgeon. And get this....He tore his rotator cup and went into his own surgery yesterday. Which meant mine was canceled. Unfortunately, he is the only surgeon that can perform my procedure. Its a new type of surgery here in the US. But has been done in eastern medicine for several years and has had good results. It also offers me the best quality of life after this is all over. Meaning, I will still get to eat solid food, in small doses. And as I have learned THATS HUGE!! So that is why I have decided to wait for him to heal before surgery. This means that I am now back in chemo for 2 months and then 4-6 weeks to heal. After all we have to keep attacking this thing...no time for a nap. I am possibly looking at mid September now before we try this again. Even though this was quite a shot to the gut I still remain positive and will continue to do so. In the end it will be worth it. But for now....I feast!!
Enough of that mumbo jumbo, now for the good stuff. We got the results of the PET/MRI. Great news. The part of the cancer that was on my lymph nodes started at 11 millimeters in December is now...just wait.....only 2 millimeters!! Awesome right!! That's what I thought. And similar results are showing in the other areas. Now that I am back in chemo its only going to get smaller. And that's a win. So is the fact that I will get to enjoy more of the summer after all!! I hope you all have a great summer and I love you all!!
