Journal

It's been quite awhile since I have updated here. That's a good thing! We are getting back to normal! Kevin started working from home 2 weeks ago and started going back into the office to work last week. He is tired out when he comes home but he is getting back into the swing of things! He is eating like a normal person
Weekly wound care appointments are still happening. His wound is closed except for one tiny spot where there was a stitch that was tied about 15 times. (I remember the surgeon telling me about this stitch on December 15th). Yesterday, it was cut out and then his wound should be completely healed very soon. Maybe 1 or 2 more appointments with our wound care friends.
He had a CT scan last week Friday. We spoke to the surgeon about it yesterday. All looks good. And we should make an appointment in the next few weeks with the colorectal surgeon to start discussing the next surgery to get rid of the colostomy. This doesn't mean it is going to happen soon but at least we can get an idea of a timeline on this. Realistically, 6 to 12 months from the 2nd surgery which was December 5th).
We will be going to Mexico on Saturday. A trip we had planned well before this all started. We got the green light from the surgeon before he even left the hospital and with the last CT looking good and talking with surgeon again yesterday, we feel confident that this trip is a "go". And we sure do need this!

With that, I will probably not be posting here much more because we are just trying to live our normal life again!

I will keep this CaringBridge open and will update here when it is time for the next surgery because we will need all the prayers and good vibes we can get, as going under the knife for another big surgery does seem a little daunting after all he has been through.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support and prayers from alllll of you.
