Good Morning,
Today is another snow day for our kids up here in the twin cities.  We have had 7 days off out of the last 10 school days.  My kids have never seen anything like this...they have had only 3 or 4 total their whole life! Numerous days like this in a row have everyone scrambling and completely out of sorts as a couple of these were not expected..at all...when it's only 6 inches of snow.  ONLY! #boldnorth Usually we are too tough to cancel for that, but the -60 degrees Polar Vortex for days well that's expected.

This morning when we were adjusting yet again, don't get me wrong this has been a blast for my kids, I was thinking about how last February when this all started it was an unexpected storm that knocked Kevin and Christy's life into a literal vortex that was surreal.  It was supposed to be one surgery to repair a new aneurysm that was found.  As you all know, it became a epic storm of unknowns and extremes that caused multiple surgeries, a stroke and countless other issues that Kevin has had to endure and not to mention financially what this has meant for them.

But yesterday there was a calm instead of a storm...a beautiful message from NYC.  Kevin had a follow up scan and the results were sent to NYC and confirmed by Dr. Patel....wait for it....it was
NORMAL!!!!
He will have another scan in 3 months and return to NYC in June to have his 6 mo. check up with dr. Patel.  This is amazing news...the news Kevin and Christy were praying for and holding their breath about.  Ever since last February when they discovered the aneurysm, each time they received news it had been a continuation of an unknown storm pulling them into a surreal vortex.  But yesterday it was a giant relief to hear the words NORMAL!  Kevin was also put back on his coumadin yesterday which also reinforces that everything is good.  Since returning from NYC a month ago, Kevin has slowly been recovering. This last trauma and the surgery before that definitely took the biggest toll on Kevin with losing so much weight and muscle.  So he is in PT 3x a week and slowly getting his strength back.  His appetite is also coming back which will help him to gain weight and increase strength too. Which has all been very slow.  Slow and steady will win this race for sure!

Once again all the love, support and prayers that have covered and supported Kevin and Christy can not be measured or enough gratitude ever expressed.  God is so good and I am so grateful as I type this post to have ONLY amazing news to report. Please continue to pray as Kevin recovers and that he would continue to gain weight and strength.  Pray for Christy as she continues to recover from her foot surgery and her nasty fall in NYC that has added complications in her healing of both feet and lots of pain. (Seriously these two!!) Pray for both of them as they navigate this long healing journey and all that it means.
Blessings, Tracey
