During the procedure they discovered a pancreatic stone which somewhat reinforces the idea that her pain attacks may be due to pancreatitis. The stone is too small for lithotripsy & an invasive procedure to remove it is a very risky option as every time they operate on the pancreas there is a risk of it not recovering. Again, prayer is that the temporary nerve block stops the pain. If that is the case, the blocks can be repeated as needed, or there is an option for a permanent block down the road. Her care team which includes multiple surgeons & her GI lead doctor are going to regroup to figure out next step but for now we're going to enjoy a few days relaxing:)
