Update on Mom (Jeannie) & I:
Hi family & friends- It's been a while since we've posted & we know many people keep asking how we're doing. I'll try to keep it brief. 🤗
1) God is so good! Our scans came back & we BOTH are officially NED! (No Evidence Of Disease)
2) That said, Mom's affected lung is severely damaged & not functioning well & has scar tissue. She will have to avoid large crowds for the rest of her life as to avoid getting sick up to the point of pneumonia that would kill her. Still navigating this news/situation.
3) We are still in PT & OT. Thanks to PT Plus we are rebuilding our bodies & endurance. I'm 1 year post-op from my 2nd brain operation. We're getting stronger & better every day! I still get neurological botox for my left hand dexterity. Our Medical Teams call us miracles & say statically we should've died, be in wheelchairs & that most people would've given up. But WE ARE STILL STANDING! 💪We will NEVER give up!
4) Mom's still on oxygen (lowest level) on & off during the day. Must sleep with it at night. Her pulmonologist is hopeful that she might come off of it next year.
5) On Mother's Day, I played a true game a tag with with my niece. I ran for the 1st time in 4 years! It wasn't long, I was totally out of breath & it felt amazing! I cried happy tears after they left.
6) Mom graduated to just seeing the PA now & goes to the oncologist every 4 months! I also go to my oncologist every 4 months.
7) My gut issues: It turns out that it was one of my seizure meds that was the master of disaster. I"m recently & successfully off it & I now have a happy gut. 😊
8) We desperately miss seeing family & friends. We're so thankful for the calls, texts, & contintued thoughts & prayers. It means more than you will ever know.
