I Venmo-ed Katie $603.00! She wrote a check to the Orange County Rescue Mission. The funds will be directed to Parent, Child Enrichment. Thank you for helping us, help homeless children -  paying all our blessings forward.

There is an excitement to continue raising awareness and money for other organizations and charities. However presently I have my hands full caring for my mom and making some hard decisions. I will pick up in the fall where I left off with the other charities.

I will though post a list here of amazing opportunities to give and or SERVE… in honor of Katie for GOD’s glory! 

NEGU - a great way to spend a few hours with friends and family is stuffing JoyJars! Just let them know Katie sent you! Great for children, small groups and neighbors. 

Wrap pots of gold with my dear friend Sandy or ask how you can best serve her charity. Her entire organization is run by volunteers. They could definitely use the help.

Organize a team to run for PCRF! Make them aware Katie, aka Kit Kat sent you out! Katie over the years has had a number of teams raise money for Pediatric Cancer.

Live near the Big Apple? Reach out to my precious friend Barbara - I’m sure she could find something for you to do!? Bring a meal to the Ronald McDonald House, donate tickets to a Broadway Show. Let her know Katie Hawley sent you!!

Up in Tustin, you may see my girl running around at the Village Of Hope (OCRM)  ~ Katie runs Events, but closely works with the Volunteer Coordinator. They always need help with the children, especially during the summer, you can donate clothes, shoes, help in the kitchen, tutor a child! Hundreds of ways to use your gifts and talents! Give my daughter a hug!

Local Churches usually always need help in the nurseries and or teaching Sunday School. Both Crossline and Saddleback Church are great places to start.

Motel Church - needs groups regularly to bring up a warm breakfast and hope!

After spending several weeks in a rehab center, my heart has been moved by the dozens of elderly people who appear to never get a visitor. 

One precious woman greets my brother and me from her wheelchair daily. Most mornings she wearing a smile, but the past few visits she’s been crying. Unfortunately she doesn't speak English. We give her hugs, a smile, and even a fresh rose to brightened up her day. But how sad these places are. I’m sure a retirement home around you would appreciate an appearance!? 

This list could be limitless. 

So many opportunities to give, serve, encourage, teach, lead - show mercy. 

We would never ask you to do something we haven’t done and or aren’t doing. Katie is finishing up her year with her high school small group. This is her sixth or seventh year (even when she was sick) of  pouring spiritual wisdom and hope into these teens - make no excuses. 

Thank you dearest friends for being amazing humans. Life will quickly pass us by. My desire is to serve Jesus, by serving the poor, the sick, the elderly, the hurting. 

You wouldn’t be coming to CaringBridge if you didn’t also have a deep desire to make a difference. You have supported my child for decades, many of you have never even met Katie. That speaks volumes!! 

Only someone with a heart of compassion would make a commitment to check in on my daughter. 

Only someone with a heart of empathy would send words of encouragement and love to my girl.

Only someone with a selfless heart would read my posts and send prayers for her total healing.

We may be small in number, but have already blessed two incredible foundations. Once you sign up and volunteer with your family and friends - please send picture and comments! I would love to see what we are accomplishing.
