Karen’s Story

Site created on January 17, 2021

Hello friends and family, welcome to Karen’s caringbridge  page, we are using this site to keep you all connected so the family can stay focused on Karen’s care and treatment. We will update often to keep you all informed and truly appreciate all of the love and support you have given so far. Please  keep your prayers and love coming, we know she can feel it and it makes a difference.
My beautiful mother Karen was diagnosed with  COVID-19 January 4, 2021,  she was admitted to the hospital January 11 and intubated the 13th. She is in isolation in the ICU and being treated by some amazing medical professionals.
Thank you so much for being a part of her life and sharing your thoughts and prayers, I have already heard some amazing things about her and it warms my heart to hear how loved she is! ❤️

Journal entry by Heather Goodwin

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that my sister and I have to share the passing of our beautiful mother. We were fortunate enough to be by her side throughout the day allowing her time with her boyfriend Jim and sharing stories about our memories. She passed yesterday afternoon peacefully with my sister and I by her side. She is with our father now and I’m certain will continue to guide us from above.
Our mother was a powerful force who had the ability to put a positive spin on anything no matter what. She was happy, independent, fun loving and gave her entire life to her children and others often at the risk of neglecting herself. She was selfless, kind and one of the strongest women I have ever known. I can only hope to be 1/2 the woman she was, our lives and hearts will never be the same. Thank you all for your prayers and love, they were not in vain, she passed knowing how much love surrounded her.
She will be cremated but due to Covid no other arrangements will be made at this time. We will keep this page open so please add any photographs or stories you would like to share in her memory, we would love to hear them!
I sincerely thank you all for your support during this difficult time. 🙏❤️
