Journal

Justin is finally finishing what has been a very grueling week of chemo. This week was emotionally very hard. It's hard to describe, especially when doctors and nurses ask why this admission has been harder than others. I don't really know. I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that he got a small taste of "normal" for a few weeks and now it's over. Another part of it has to do with knowing all of his friends are doing fun summer things and he's stuck in a hospital room. During the day he's able to keep himself occupied. Special thanks and shout-out to his friend since Kindergarten, David, who plays Fortnite and Rocket League online with him. What a huge blessing to have a friend who is there when he needs him and still treats him the same as always. I love listening to their banter as they play online. Justin was also excited because the teen room now has an air hockey table, so that was a nice surprise this week. We are looking forward to going home later this evening where Uncle Tyler, Aunt Colleen, and Henry will be waiting for us and we can enjoy a fun and relaxing weekend together. Justin's counts are still very good today, so we're hoping we can make it through the weekend with him feeling good. Next week is supposed to be a week off for him. We are praying that he makes it through the week without any unexpected admissions. With the weather looking good, hopefully he can get outside and be with friends during his short time off. We're definitely going to try to make the most of it. Thank you for all of your prayers, kind words, and anything you've done in the last 6 months to try to uplift us. We are really appreciative of the people who are supporting us through this difficult phase of life.
