Journal

Here is the latest from my Mom:
Today I had #12 of 16 chemo rounds that started on November 19, 2018 and will end on April Fools Day hopefully!  Four more rounds to go, on next the 4 Monday’s - the countdown continues!

Chemo has been a roller coaster ride that’s included a number of nuisance side effects (loss of hair, total loss of appetite, taste of food changes, weight loss of 20 lbs.,  dropping blood counts resulting in one blood transfusion, mouth sores, back sores, peeling of numerous layers of skin on fingers resulting in pain and loss of fingerprints, darkening fingernail beds with results to be determined, FATIGUE, dizzy, dopey, and dim-witted - dubbed the 3D side effect).

Many of these side effects have been treated with medications and others should subside when chemo ends.  I am so very thankful for the for the variety of magical pre and post treatment anti-nausea drugs - I have had NO NAUSEA.   And that I have the luxury of napping as needed.

The very best news is that the tumors appear to be shrinking!  I give thanks daily for the power of good doctors and medicine, the positive thoughts and prayers of so very many, and the constant tender loving care of family and friends.  I remain firm in my belief that I will be joining the Breast Cancer Survivors Club at the end of this journey.

The plan remains surgery sometime in May, followed by radiation a month or so later.  Please keep the prayers coming for they are working on the cancer, and they are sustaining me!

With love, hope and gratitude,   Julie XO
