Our hearts were shattered three weeks ago on Saturday, June 24^th 2023 with the loss of our beautiful and beloved John. From his initial diagnosis in November through the final days of his fight, John’s resilience and optimism were unwavering.

We will always remember John’s kindness, positivity, compassion, honesty, and generosity. John lived presently, always striving to create special moments with family and friends. When spending time with John, one would be graced with his favorite music, from the Grateful Dead to opera, reggae to jazz. For himself and all of us, he cultivated a love for cooking, traveling, mountain biking, the MN Wild, lacrosse, skiing, reading, spotting sandhill cranes, cribbage, and spending time at Lake Owen—a place where many of our most treasured memories were made. John’s indominable spirit will live on in us and all who knew and loved him. 

We are full of gratitude for your outpouring of love and support throughout this tumultuous journey. Your presence, prayers, gestures, kindness, and compassion helped us through the most difficult of times. Please join us for an open house celebration of John’s life on Monday, September 11^th from 1:30-4:30 pm at 7 Vines Vineyard in Dellwood, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or True Friends (truefriends.org), an organization John was involved with and passionate about.
