Welcome to John’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportLast year, I came home from work on May 5th, cinco de Mayo, to John with margaritas made, a taco spread from Costco and music playing in the kitchen! It was amazing and silly and very sweet; a wonderful(unusual) surprise! What fun we had!
This past Sunday, May 5th, one year later, was John's fundraiser. What a difference one year makes.
This event was put on by such a loving, generous and hard working group of faithful friends and family!
And what an event it was! 🥹😱 John and I really don’t have the right words for how to thank everyone. Words aren’t big enough to express the love and gratitude we felt and still feel!
People from all parts of our lives, past and present, showed up. We can’t begin to guess how many came and we got so many loving regrets as well. Even those that couldn’t be there in person reached out to send their love and support.
As some of us sometimes do, we did have the moment of worry that no one would come 🤪🙈, but boy, were we wrong! At one point, my brother Mike tried to do a head count, lol! So many people kept coming in though it was impossible to keep track!
John was amazed! And he was amazing! He greeted everyone chatted and so many people commented to me, on how John remembered certain specific things about them . I assure you, he remembers you ALL! And loves you tons!
After the big event, we came home and we were both in awe. John kept laughing, saying, “I didn’t think I knew that many people!” Still humble John. He really doesn’t appreciate the impact he has had on others and the caring person he is.
During the fundraiser, John delivered a very heartfelt and tearful speech, tears from him and those listening. The most important thing to both of us is to thank everyone and sincerely let you know how much this meant to us.
One specific person, Fr Rolf, from Nativity, came to chat with me. He had come to visit John in the ICU, while John was still unconscious. We met for the first time at Regions that day and prayed together with and for John. Fr. was so excited to see John at the fundraiser! And when he did see John, he said, “Oh my! God is good!” It was perfectly said.❤️
We are six months into this journey. Still a long road ahead, yet we have so much to be grateful for. John has regained so much, worked so hard and kept a positive attitude through it all. We know the next leg of this race will continue to bring more healing!
The gift of your love has truly refueled John! Again, we can’t thank you enough!
Please continue prayers for patience as healing takes time! And know we love you all! ❤️
Happy Mother’s Day to all too!
Much love, Becky ❤️PS: I just want to say again what rockstar children (and their partners) we are so blessed to have!
