Journal entry by Ryan Spradlin —
As of late yesterday afternoon, Dad is out of the hospital and we’ve set up camp in the inpatient rehab center! I’m thinking we might be here a couple of weeks. Time will tell.
Dad is doing okay all things considered. Truth be told, I’ve not been ecstatic with his slow progress. He’s still very tired most of the day, his appetite is poor, and he’s been struggling a little with PT.
On the bright side, I was happy today he ate 50% of his lunch and dinner and managed to force down a chocolate Premier Protein drink. That’s more than he’s eaten in the past 4 days combined.
The road ahead isn’t an easy one. If you’d like to come by the rehab center and say hello to dad, let me know so I can coordinate. The rehab center only allows one visitor at a time but we can have more than one person per day. I think seeing some friends could be really good for him.
I’ll try to post some pictures soon. Thanks everyone and take care,
ryan
