Journal entry by Sheila Umland —
On Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, Jim Denomie took his last breath as the sun was rising. He went on to his spirit journey surrounded by love of his wife, daughters Cheryl, Sheila, and Jodi.
Last night he had a good night with his family telling stories, talking about memories, and an art installation idea that he had in his sketch book, but didn’t think he’d “have time to see it through.” We laughed and enjoyed his company until he wanted some rest. He slept in and out of dreams and talking until about 1:30 a.m. when he wanted to sit up and talked about his recliner. He settled in peacefully in the early hours of the morning. He took his last breath holding hands with his wife, Diane, and daughters and Cheryl, Sheila, and Jodi.
The day before he had visits with his mom, his niece, and other family members. It was good to hear the quiet laughter and good talk being shared from his room. It was a good day of loved ones and goodbyes. As was in his nature, Jim was making sure we were all taken care of, had our to-dos and our chances to say goodbye. He lived his life being connected, considerate, and committed to his family and friends.
We love him so much and know that he is with us always.
