Checking in with an update on Jess, as it's been another tough and exhausting week.
On Sunday, Jess spiked a 102.7 temperature and was very sick with abdominal pain and vomiting. She was admitted to United Hospital in St Paul, MN.
An infection was discovered, and the doctors ran several tests, including a CT scan and X-ray, to determine its cause.
They eventually concluded that the stent placed a few weeks ago was not working as well as it should have been, so they decided to go back in on Monday and put a longer stent in place.
The procedure went smoothly, and she was released Tuesday afternoon. She has been resting at home ever since.
Today, Jess' mom, Judy, and sister, Carrie, traveled out to stay with Jess till this Monday.
You may remember that this week was meant to be the week of Jess' next scans at MD Anderson in Houston. Since she was hospitalized, she wasn't able to travel to Houston (or attend the side trip she had planned to Waco), but her Houston appointment has been rescheduled to June 4th.
Carrie will be traveling with Jess to Houston, so she won't be alone.
We asked Jess if she needed anything at this time, and she requested some more DoorDash gift cards to help in the evenings when she doesn't feel up to cooking.
If you want to send one her way, you can purchase one right here and text it to Jess' phone at: 314-324-9178.
Please continue to pray for Jess. While the morphine had been managing her pain, these hospitalizations take a lot out of her, and she returns home very fatigued and often has an increase in pain.
Thank you for continuing to rally around her! It means the world to her!
Sharing some pics from before the hospitalization - when Jess, Caitlin, and Gina explored the town of Anoka and saw some northern lights!
