Newest Update

Journal entry by Rachel McCrickard

Hi friends and family -

Checking in with some good news and not so good news…

The good news is that Jess got to go home from the hospital Saturday morning. She was so happy to see Gertie and Moose and sleep in her own bed.  She’s been getting a lot of rest, binging a few shows and keeping Casey and Caitlin busy with some home projects.

On the not so good news… Dr. Liu has recommended that Jess go back on the more aggressive chemo drugs. This was not the news Jess wanted to hear, as it results in very rough side effects.

The next step is for Jess to meet with Dr. Liu this Tuesday (4/23) to check her bloodwork, and then determine when to start the more aggressive treatment.

In the meantime, Jess is doing what she does - enjoying the moments when she feels well, laughing as much as she can, and riding the waves of sadness and uncertainty as they inevitably come.

Jess’ sister, Carrie arrives tomorrow so she’s very excited for some much needed sister time this week.

Jess feels your love and prayers - so keep em coming! 💜
