Sign In to Show Your SupportHello friends and family - I am excited to say that this post is full of good news!
I am now officially over halfway through chemo. I have completed all four AC chemo infusions and five of the twelve taxol infusions. According to my mad math skills (and my cell phone calculator), that is 9/16 for56% completion rate. Yippee!!! I will still have four weeks (20 doses) of radiation, but I am not counting that. 😉
Next good news - genetics test came back and I do not carry any BRCA genes. I am very relieved as this means my nieces do not have to worry, and I get to keep my ovaries!! Big relief. 🙌
One more positive to share - I went to TCO today to start some physical therapy. I was supposed to do PT after surgery, but my insurance company denied it as they do not cover the company that my surgeon recommended. I was frustrated and gave up. But MN Oncology told me that TCO has a fairly new program for mastectomy patients and related lymphoma issues. My first appointment was today and I am thrilled! The therapist was amazing - she took a lot of measurements and did a lot of stretching and massage with me. I feel so validated. I was very frustrated with how slowly I am healing, and she totally understands and is going to help me. 😊 I cannot express what a huge relief this is and how excited I am to continue therapy.
Thanks for all of the support and well wishes. Overall I am feeling much better after infusions. I have been trying to get out more and see people which is very uplifting. Patti and I are also trying to spend more time at the cabin when we can get away. I even hope to start fishing this weekend! 🎣 Wish me luck!
