Journal

Good Evening,

Here is this week’s update from Jeff.

“Summary:
This was a rather uneventful week from a medical perspective.  Yay!
But some small wins to share....
The reduced dosages of some antibiotics and removal of another medication have seemed to really help stabilize my stomach issues.
I'm able to eat more and more often without the nasty tummy issues that have been following for months.
I'm also able to drink lots of water which helps the kidneys filter all of the medicine.
I can tell my body is getting more much needed nutrition.
Also, there were 3 wound vac changes last week, and with each one there was some noticeable improvement.
The healing is very slow.  But for now, we continue to trend in the right direction.

Weekend:
We stayed at the farm again this weekend.
Paul and Derrick finished the installation of the furnace humidifier, air exchanger and got the central air hooked back up on Friday.
Uncle Bark (brother Jamie) stopped out and did an inspection of the basement on Saturday.
The house and basement are shaping up and I'm confident we've done everything possible to make the house safe for returning home soon.
The house has fresh, clean, humidified, heavily filtered air and you could tell!
We had a wonderful grill out on Saturday afternoon for Mother's Day.
Rocky and Alison, Uncle Bark, Aaron, Mayah, Nova, Grandma Carol and Michael all hung out all afternoon.
Jerry stopped in for a few hours and helped supervise the grill.
Sunday Trish and I had a buffet breakfast and afterwards hung out with Rocky & Alison, Jon, Andrea, Brock and Brooklyn, Terri, Denise and Adam and enjoyed the beautiful weather on the outside patio at Buckshots.
It was an amazing weekend and I'm getting a little bit stronger each week.
Being around family, friends and loved one's is so energizing for the spirit!
I get teared up and emotional just thinking about how many special people care so much about us.
It's heartwarming.

Reflection:
It's been just over 3 months since the transplant.
And the limited activity I can do at this point is so much more than I was able to do back in November and December.
I would choose to not attend social activities, sporting events, Birthday parties,  Xmas, Thanksgivings hosted by family or friends because of how difficult it was to try to socialize, talk, and physically grind through a few hours.
Now, I look forward to connecting with others and it is so enjoyable to be able to engage with people again.
This has been quite the journey so far.  And although it is far from over, and I know there will be more battles to overcome, if this is as good as it gets, for now, that is enough.  I've had a couple really enjoyable, fulfilling weekends the last few, and damn, does it feel good.

God is Good!
We are so blessed!

Love you All!”
