Journal entry by Kaitlan Gossage —
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much to all of you who have reached out to check in, tell us that you're praying for us, and ask how you can help. We've really appreciated the overflow of support and love, and we see God through all of you every day. Thank you!
Janson was discharged from the hospital on April 13th, and we've managed his pain fairly well from home. Good news is that his pain has significantly reduced in the last week or so! For the first time in about two months, he went for a full 24 hours without a pain episode on the 19th. He is also running about 48 hours without a pain episode right now - we are praising God for this!
I am speculating that the oral chemo the oncologist put him on two weeks ago is kicking in, which is amazing. This chemotherapy will not put him in remission (it doesn't have the ability to). Rather, the goal is to keep his pain under control by "pressing pause" on the disease process - it will work to limit the proliferation of the leukemia.
We meet with the oncologist, Dr. Levis, on the 30th to discuss what potential clinical trials Janson can join or what treatment options are out there to get him in remission. A stem cell transplant is still the goal once he achieves remission. Major prayer request for God to impart his wisdom to Dr. Levis so he suggests a treatment plan that works!
Since Janson's pain is down, the last two weeks have given us a bit of normalcy, which was a blessing. We've gotten to visit with friends, family, and spend some time with our dog, Tucker. We are so grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this time. Thank you again for your continued prayers and support!

Here are links to help with some of our current needs. They can also be found under the "Ways to Help" portion of our website. There is no pressure to give at all! Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support.
GoFundMe: General giving fund - this goes toward any medical bills and housing/transportation costs. **Important: we do not see any money that is given through Caring Bridge - please give to our GoFundMe instead.**
Uber Eats Gift Cards: This is very helpful for when we're at the hospital for long periods of time and I can't make food for myself. I work with women at church to provide meals for Janson, and I try to eat the hospital food as much as I can to save money, but ordering food locally can be a huge blessing to me.***
Whole Foods Gift Cards: Janson is on a strict diet. We work with a nutritionist to make sure that he is eating the right foods/supplements to help support his body through treatment. We purchase all of our food from Whole Foods and try our best to look for quality ingredients - this is not always the most budget-friendly, so any help here is appreciated!***
Lotsa Helping Hands: Just recently started this to put the rest of our needs in one place - people can volunteer to help through this website. You will need to create an account to use it, but it's there if you'd like!
***Both gift cards can be delivered via email: kaitlangossage@gmail.com
