Today is the day!! We're kicking off our third annual "Games from James" toy drive!!! And this one is extra special this year because our 1-month toy drive is counting down the days til James **rings the bell** to end his treatment!!!! We are so excited!!! By the time he's done, it will have been just shy of two and a half years since he was diagnosed, which was actually best case scenario! We are so thankful!!
Anyway, back to the toy drive!! Texas Childrens Hospital uses toys, games and crafts to help kids who have tough experiences at the hospital. If a kid has to go to the ER, he'll probably get a toy (James has!). If a cancer kid has a long chemo day ahead of him and could use something to pass the time, he'll probably get a craft or play-doh kit (James has!). If a kid is having to handle something hard like a shot or a spinal tap, he'll probably get a reward (James has!). Even all the way down to if a kid needs a new pair of clothes because of nausea or an accident (James has!), Texas Childrens can provide those too! But all of these prizes, toys and even clothes are provided through donations from people like us! We plan to have a ringing the bell/"Games from James" finale party for nearby family and friends as well, so feel free to save your donations for then if you'd like!
