Journal
Some of Jada's test results came back today. The good news is she does not have Polycythemia Vera. The bad news is she has been diagnosed with von Willebrand Disease which sometimes shows a positive result for Polycythemia Vera.
Von Willebrand Disease is a bleeding disorder that affects your blood's ability to clot. If your blood doesn't clot you can have heavy, hard-to-stop bleeding after an injury. Even though von Willebrand Disease is a lifelong condition with no cure, treatment can help prevent or stop bleeding episodes.
Jada will need several infusions and be prescribed a nose spray to stop the bleeding and bruises. Her insurance does not cover the total cost of the infusions and nose spray.
Jada will continue to have Mayo in Rochester as her primary care facility as the hospitals locally do not provide care for von Willebrand Disease.
Please continue to pray for Jada and her family. We will keep updating as we know more information.
