Unfortunately, it's been a brutal week: another week of rarely leaving Isaiah's bedside. There have been hours upon hours of choking/coughing fits and many, many seizures. Hard days. Long nights. The exhaustion of it all has rendered our emotional fuses quite short. But, that isn't the point of this update. The point of this update is to show you one of the many ways God continues to carry us through. I figure since you’re all on this journey with us now I might as well share some “behind the scenes.”
Off and on yesterday, my 8-year-old asked me spelling questions. "Daddy, how do you spell 'special'?" "Daddy, how do you spell 'about'?" I assumed he was working on a school project. He wasn’t. He disappeared just after we finished family prayer time. He reappeared a couple minutes later to hand his momma this note.
Goodness, we love that kid.
Also worth noting…more coffee and chocolate showed up yesterday.
Even during the hardest of times, we have much to be thankful for. God is with us in the fire. He keeps on encouraging us in the storm. Through our kids. Through our family. Through our friends.
Thank you for continuing to pray.
