Journal

I have been wanting to post for the last couple weeks with several praises of good news, but today seems just perfect as we are officially getting ALL Isaiah’s food/calories by mouth as of today!!!!! I can’t even believe that not even two months ago we just got the go ahead to eat unlimited foods (within the right thickness) by mouth and now we are only getting water by his tube!! Truly, thank you Jesus.

He had a slight dip In his weight a couple weeks ago but as of today he is the heaviest he has been and is doing great gaining weight! He absolutely loves food and is having a blast finally eating all his meals. And I keep hearing from his team how rare his love for food is given his history so praise Jesus he is not averse to eating!

In other updates he officially started walking while we were in Mexico and is just cruising right along! Once he started eating orally it’s like so much started falling into place. Not only is he walking but he is also starting to talk which is such a joy and blessing to hear. He finally is saying words, “ball, momma, daddy, more, all done, bye bye, go, banana,” and others! Something I thought was very far off, and now it’s so sweet to experience. Oh I feel like I could just overflow with joy and gratitude to Jesus. The things I doubted and thought were far off dreams have occurred (Matthew 6:31-32).

We go back to Cincinnati in mid-June for a voice clinic to see how his voice has improved since surgery. And my has it improved! He is finally too loud to be in the kids’ concerts or church and what a praise that is! He used to barely be audible in his crib crying now I can hear “maaaa” loud and clear when downstairs! He also had an echo in April that showed very positive things with his mild tricuspid regurgitation showing improvement! His cardiologist seems to think
His 3rd bypass surgery being in spring 2026 is very doable rather than 2025. The list of praises is long, and I don’t ever want to stop crediting all to the Lord and thanking Him for this sweet season! Kev and I have shared that Isaiah is finally behaving or doing things that remind us of our other kids and that normalization of life is beautiful.

One final praise to add before moving on to a couple prayer requests is that I am pregnant and due mid October. So far all is seemingly healthy with this baby but we would so very much appreciate prayers. On June 5th we will have the fetal echo and level 2 anatomy scan for this baby. We are praying for healthy organs all around.
Also continued prayers for Isaiah’s tube weens. They say he can get rid of water from the tube by getting water in foods and thicker liquids. But a hope/prayer of mine is that his swallow studies will keep getting better and better to move on to
Thinner and thinner liquids as his new nerve from the surgery in February continues to grow and heal.
As always thank you for being a place where we can request prayers and sing of the Lord’s goodness!
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭30‬:‭12‬ ‭
