Important notice about mom's memorial service.
As many of you know, we here in Washington are ground zero for the COVID-19 outbreak in the US. King County has issued the following guidelines - https://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health/communicable-diseases/disease-control/novel-coronavirus/protection.aspx
In following these guidelines, Bethany Community Church (where we intended to hold mom's memorial service) has already cancelled in-person church services for this coming Sunday (March 8) and though they have not already cancelled the following Sunday (March 15), we expect that will likely occur.
Because of these recommendations, both from King County, and from Bethany Community Church, we have made the difficult decision to postpone mom's memorial service. While we would really love to get together with you to celebrate mom's life, the risk is not worth it. Not only would many people who want to attend be in high risk groups, but we know of multiple out of town visitors planning to fly in, including Peter.
Once the concerns about COVID-19 settle down and King County removes their recommendations, we will work to see if we can come up with a new time to get together. At this time we can't predict when that will be, but once we have a new date and time I'll post it here.
This decision has been particularly hard on dad. Please pray for peace about it. While you're at it, please pray for the officials who have to make tough calls like this and for the healthcare workers who are on the front lines.
