Journal

Before I share the info about June 1st (reference my last post for a description of the worship nights planned for this Summer), I want to share a story.

Last Summer Summit played baseball and I was the coach, Heather got a button picture that she wore to his games proudly.  Fast forward to now, Summit is playing baseball and I am the coach.  Summit remembered Heather had worn the picture to every game and asked if his sisters or I would wear a button picture of him to his games?  So, I bought two this year.  I bet a couple of his sisters will proudly wear them!  Twice today, thinking about this brought tears to my eyes.  Why?  It is just sad... an 8 year old boy can't enjoy having his momma proudly "showoff" her son and whoop it up cheering for him.  (Many can probably imagine that Heather was typically the loudest of fans at her children's event).  These are not bad memories or feelings, just sad...  but healing if you let them be.

Details for June 1st "No Strings Attached" Worship Night:

  • Where?  The big barn at 301 Hersey St Shambaugh, IA 51651.
  • Doors will open at 4 pm - feel free to come early for fellowship!
  • 5 pm - the worship will start.
  • Plan to bring a blanket or lawn chair to use in the barn.
  • Feel free to bring your own refreshments and drinks.
  • If you are coming from a distance and want to come earlier in the afternoon, you are welcome to do so.  There could be some who would like to visit the graveside who did not get to do so at Heather's Celebration of Life, you are welcome!  Reach out to me and we can connect.
  • Kids will be able welcome during worship, they will also be able to play in the yard with a playset.

Bring an expectant heart, I believe the Lord wants to grow us through healing our pain.  Worship has been an incredible place of surety for the kids and I, they are singing or listening to worship music that glorifies God much of each day.  My hope is that Heather's story would be a catalyst for you to face your trauma and pain (if needed) from the past by allowing Jesus to touch you as only He can. If you are reading this and are intrigued, even if it is an uncomfortable feeling of intrigue I would invite you to come and worship with us!

We will be remember Heather for sure on her birthday of June 1st, but our main focus will be to glorify The Most High King!

Blessings,

Seth +5
