Heather’s Story

Site created on September 13, 2023

For those who know Heather and her family, you know the gift they are to so many.

Heather is first and foremost a daughter of the Most High King. Her faith is paramount in word and deed. Her devotion, abiding faith, and love of God is exemplary. The Lord has and continues to use her mightily in the lives of many, women especially.

Heather is wife to Seth. She takes great delight in being his help meet. They are a dynamic team and have served the Church together for over 16 years. They have helped plant churches and host small groups. No one has been a stranger in their home where Heather loves to cook and host.

Heather is mama to 5 beautiful children. They range from ages 12 to 3. She joys in homeschooling them and discipling their hearts to know and love Jesus. Heather infuses the Stimson home with laughter, music, enthusiasm, and a zest for life.

Last fall, Seth and Heather moved from Olathe, KS, where Seth gave up his job, to follow the Lord to southwest Iowa. They took a leap of faith and once again opened their door to neighbors and the community where they've poured out their lives to help others.

Even in the darkest of times, many could call on Seth and Heather and know they were in good hands. Heather is a warrior. We know she will walk this journey in boldness, faith, and confidence in her maker and healer Jesus Christ.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Seth Stimson

I know, I know - lots of people are wandering how we are doing.   Simply put, I have had to prioritize where my time goes and writing journal entries has had to move down the list.  So, I am going to attempt to start writing smaller snippets more often this Summer.  I will describe how we are doing in more detail soon, it has somehow been six months since our mama and wife passed on to eternal glory...

I wanted to communicate plans over the next six months to have three worship nights in the barn on our property in Shambaugh.  These will be open worship nights with a welcome to the Holy Spirit to interject.  There will be no teaching or preaching, and there will be no invitation to a specific church or the like - "No Strings Attached".  These will be nights of healing for many, not only in regard to Heather's story, but I hope also for undealt with trauma and grief for people.  The dates of the worship nights are:

  • June 1st - We will celebrate Heather's Birthday with worship - Marc Giffin is married to Heather's first cousin Tara from Topeka.  He will be coming to lead worship on this first night, he is a long time worship leader!
  • August 10th - Natalie Holland and Restoration Church worship team from Gardner, KS will be leading the worship!  Our family had the privilege of helping start Restoration Church before we moved to Southwest Iowa.  Many close relationships and memories.  August 7th of last year, there was a group of people baptized in the river near our home in Shambaugh.  Maybe there are others who want to believe and be baptized?!
  • October 15th - This will mark the one year anniversary when Heather went on to Glory! - Restoration Church will be leading the worship.  Rather than mope or feel sorry for how much this earth misses Heather Marie Stimson, we are going to worship the Lord in the same manner she and your loved ones in heaven are glorifying God.

It is a choice...  how we live our days on this earth.  The kids and I refuse to waste the memory of Heather our wife and mama.  We refuse to waste the opportunity to be transformed and to be a conduit of transformation to others.

You are invited to join us on June 1st, August 10th, and October 15th.  Bring a friend who wants to be transformed from a life of religion, hurt, or bitterness to a life in pursuit of Jesus!
