Journal

Hello everyone,

Well I'm out of bed and thought I'd write another update. This past Monday was my 3rd "AC" infusion meaning I now only have 1 CHEMO LEFT!!! June 5th is the last one: whoop whoop! These ones sure take a lot out of me but I was able to go on a little walk to mail out some stickers and visit a local veggie stand for fixing for tonight's dinner.

Time has both gone by fast and slow. Looking back to everything I've done in the past couple weeks it is really quite a lot! From visiting the Oregon Coast, to taking dance classes, rockclimbing, and hiking. Looking back is a good reminder that my life hasn't only revolved around my cancer, although some days it sure has.

Getting out of bed is really the hardest part. I've been having more lonely days lately and for some reason have found calmness through solo visits to the mall. I will say, having a hot flash in the cafeteria line at the Ikea might be one of the nine levels of Hell... Now the mall isn't necessarily my favorite place to visit, nor is it something I did a lot pre-cancer, but I find it a place where I can walk and forget. Maybe it's the people watching, or the 20ish minute drive out to the 'burbs, or having an all you can eat salad, soup, and breadstick at the Olive Garden while ease-dropping on all the servers as they pass by the bar top. Just things to distract me.

Oh I did want to mention, I met someone while at Smith Rock State Park who went through the same thing as me. She was climbing with her partner these super hard routes like holy cow! We really connected and to have someone look you straight in the eye, someone that's been in that hell just like you have, and call you strong, I finally believed it myself. Thanks Rachel (if you ever read this) for stopping to chat with me and for sharing your story 💕

Things I'm looking forward to:
  • I have a dance audition this Sunday 🤞
  • I'm traveling home (Minnesota) next week to attend my charity Garage sale! It'll be my first time back since last August
  • Last chemo June 5th! Chev and I are gonna celebrate with champagne and oysters after I feel all recovered. I cannot wait!
That's all for now folks!
-Heather
